Astro Seven Summits
Dr. Musilova and her team's pioneering project represents a world-first in performing scientific and educational activities, in collaboration with NASA and many other organizations worldwide, on the Seven Summits of the world (the tallest mountain on each continent).
Kilimanjaro
The Astro Seven Summits team successfully completed their first Astro Seven Summits expedition to Kilimanjaro (in Tanzania), the tallest mountain in Africa, in September 2022.
Aconcagua
Dr. Musilova and her team successfully performed their expedition to Aconcagua (in Argentina), the tallest mountain in South America, in December 2023.
Denali
The Denali expedition (in Alaska) was a new challenge for Dr. Musilova, as she completed this research and educational expedition all by herself on the tallest mountain in North America, in May 2024.
Mt. Vinson
Dr. Musilova successfully completed her expedition to Vinson, the tallest mountain in Antarctica, in January 2025, despite several unexpected challenges.
Everest
The Astro Seven Summits team successfully completed their expedition in Tibet to study the extreme environments on Everest, the tallest mountain in Asia and in the world, in September 2025.
Kosciuszko
Dr. Musilova is planning the next Astro Seven Summits expedition to Kosciuszko, the tallest mountain in Australia. It will most likely take place in December 2026.
Mt Blanc
The Astro Seven Summits team is planning their final expedition, as part of this worldwide project, in 2027 to Mt Blanc, the tallest mountain in Europe.

Dr. Michaela Musilova has been the Commander of over 30 simulated missions to the Moon and Mars - the most led to date worldwide - in collaboration with NASA, ESA, and other space organizations globally.

She led missions at LunAres (Poland), MDRS (Utah, USA), on a boat (USA), underwater aquanaut mission at the Jules' Undersea Lab (Florida, USA) and at HI-SEAS (Hawaii, USA). She was the Director of HI-SEAS for several years and organized over 40 simulated lunar and martian missions there. Notably, she led a para-astronaut mission at LunAres to help make the space sector more accessible to people with disabilities.
Polar Research
Astrobiology at the Extremes of Earth
Dr. Michaela Musilova conducts astrobiology research in the world's most extreme polar environments, from Antarctica to the Arctic (for instance in Greenland and Svalbard). She studies what can survive in those challenging conditions to help scientists understand what the limits of life are. In turn, that information can help astrobiologists potentially find life on Mars and other planetary bodies. Dr. Musilova performs these research projects in collaboration with NASA and many other institutions worldwide.

Antarctica
When Dr. Musilova first journeyed to Antarctica, it was part of was the largest all-female and non-binary STEM expedition to Antarctica. She was selected for this expedition as part of a worldwide competition. Dr. Musilova took part in her second expedition to Antarctica all by herself. It was part of the Astro Seven Summits project, in continental Antarctica and on the tallest mountain of the continent, Vinson. Antarctica is one of the best places on Earth to conduct astrobiology research, which is why Dr. Musilova is planning on returning to continue her research.
Iceland
In 2025, Dr. Musilova was invited to be part of a NASA expedition to Iceland. There, she and her team used its volcanic and glacial terrain as an analog for studying life in extreme environments relevant to the search for life on Mars.
Polar Analog Studies
Dr. Musilova is one of very few people on Earth to have led research projects on all seven continents, with polar regions serving as key analog sites for astrobiology and planetary science.

Inspiring and empowering the next generation of scientists, explorers, and changemakers through STEAM educational activities, hands-on workshops, and competitions that connect youth to cutting-edge science and space research worldwide.
Educational Presentations
One of Dr. Musilova's passions is to regularly teach and give presentations to audiences of all ages through a variety of activities for schools, universities and the public. She also regularly gives interviews to the media worldwide to make her work more accessible to everyone.
Mars & Space Focused Student Competitions
Dr. Musilova has initiated a number of competitions and programs enabling young people all over the world to take part in hands-on scientific research and simulated space missions on an international level.
International Educational Programs
XtremeFrontiers and Dr. Musilova collaborate with multiple organizations worldwide on outreach and educational activities. For instance, Dr. Musilova is the patron for several educational programs aiming to inspire and empower young people, including the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, of which she is a Gold Award recipient and patron of the organization in Slovakia since 2015.

Dr. Musilova and her team film a documentary during each Astro Seven Summits expedition to capture the science, the struggle, and the journey of exploration on the tallest mountain on each continent.
Hakuna Matata Kilimanjaro
Hakuna Matata Kilimanjaro is the first documentary Dr. Musilova directed. It was filmed during the Astro Seven Summits expedition to Kilimanjaro (the tallest mountain in Africa). The documentary was released in 2023 and it has been shown on four different continents. It was also selected as part of the Ekotopfilm Festival.

The Boss - Aconcagua is Dr. Musilova's second documentary. It was filmed during the Astro Seven Summits expedition to Aconcagua (the tallest mountain in South America). The documentary was released in 2025 and it was also selected as part of the Ekotopfilm Festival. It continues to be shown in multiple countries and on several continents.
